i have a new printer that i am trying to get set up and i keep getting a message saying that i need an ip address for the printer can you tell me were i get one from or if i need one

Only if you are setting up a network printer. Check the printer properties and make sure that 'Local Printer' is selected if the printer is directly connected to the computer and that the port selected is either USB Local Printer or LPT Local Printer if using a parallel connector. ~Steve Medley
