Usually the reason this happens is when one or more of your songs has a messed up ID3v2 Tag
and the only way to fix it is to find the song that is the problem and then delete all of the info on the Tag...personally i like to use Jet Audio Player to do it.
because it has a little right click shortcut to edit the songs Tag.
so take off any music that is new and see if it works and if it doesn't it is one or more of the songs that you have had for awhile...or if this is the first time putting music on then i suggest going through artists and putting all of one artist in it at a time and then unplugging.
have fun cus it can take awhile.
Oh and when you delete the Tag remember beforehand that you should write down the info XD
If the above does not work and you have a monthly membership to Napster, Rhapsody, etc., every month the device needs to be plugged in to update.
You will need to upgrade or reinstall the firmware on your MP3 player. You may download the firmware on http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1376. For the manual installation of the firmware upgrade, you may go to this site: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1449
