Unit loads,but will not shoot due to no trigger tension
It sounded good but made no sense. How do you remove the trigger/ squeeze handle assembly? This thing (Stanley TR70) is riveted together. The only piece that is removable is the staple feed tray.
Disregard the "makes no sense" comment. I guess I don't understand how to post. I was reply to another post that had an explaination of how to disassemble the TR70 staple gun and it showed up a new thread.
It sounds like your hammer is stuck. If you press down hard on the top of the staple gun while it is in the firing position the hammer should load. You probably have a staple stuck inside or there is gunk build up inside the mechanism. Push and fire the staple gun without staples. Spray it with degreaser or lubricant. Repeat until the hammer loads easily. Hope this helps.

very simple to fix it 1 pull the trigger all the way out 2 there is a little piece of metal, pull it all the way out (detach the piece out from the gun) an connect one side of the spring 3 push the piece back on the gun. 4 on the other side of the spring tide a little fishing line 5 pass the fishing line over a small rounded piece and pull it hard 6 finally connect the side of the spring onto a little hock on the base of the trigger

If your TR70 has no Spring pressure look at the bottom where the staples come out if there's that little piece of metal sticking out press it until it goes back and it will snap and you will have Spring pressure again evidently it was dry fired or the last time you used it when you ran out of staples there wasn't enough pressure to push the mechanism that shoots the staple back in I just fixed mine good to go
Okay, thanks, this worked. However the rubber bumper that causes the trigger to reset has disintegrated. Can I get a replacement?
