You can hit F1 if it stops there on bootup and acknowledge the change or you can log into Open Manage and acknowledge the memory change there as well.

How can i allocate more memory to video card of acer aspire 5100

You can only do that with onboard video cards. If you have an onboard you can choose how much ram to assign to it in your bios settings. However it is limited and if you already have 128 assigned to it, that's probably about all it's gonna give ya. But hey it never hurts to check Assigning your physical memory to your graphics card will result a shortage of your total system memory and your whole system will slow down a bit.
Video cards meant for better processing the graphical content of your system and free up your system's physical memory.[via]
So, if you buy a new and better video card with more memory you will have a fast system with better performance.

My memory upgrade from 500 mg to 1 gig resulted in total of 736 mg - why

Hi there.
The reason it's only showing 736MB is because the graphics memory is shared so it steals 256MB from the system memory.
If you want a little more system memory you have to reboot the computer, enter the BIOS (press F2 on start-up) and set the shared video memory to 64 or 128MB save the changes and exit the BIOS, you will then notice when you boot into the OS your system memory will be slightly higher.

Blue screen c000021a fatal system error

usually blue screen comes from unstable video memory or windows system or HD.
you may try
1) reinstall windows
2) change another HD to install windows
3) change new ram memory or change memories slot between one and another
if not fixed, to be sure your video memory damage which is insualted on board(separated with RAM), only the hardware repair can be fixed.
