try to print a test page, form the driver properties in the printer and faxes folder. what happens when you do this, if you see a little printer pop up down to the right side near the clock that is the print que, click on it and cancel all print jobs.. restart the test print from the driver properties.
is this happening from one program, two which?
what is the excat message you are reciving.

how is it connected, usb, network, gdi?
