Hi there, I'm having texture problems with a XFX Geforce 6200 256mb AGP (http://www.xfxforce.com/web/product/listConfigurationDetails.jspa?productConfigurationId=79772) With nvidia or xfx new drivers all I see is a black screen when running any game, but I can hear the menu sounds and stuff. With 78.01 and below I can see the game, but textures are bugged, like the following examples: http://www.punknet.com.br /davi/wow.jpg http://www.punknet.com.br /davi/gta31.jpg http://www.punknet.com.br /davi/gta32.jpg http://www.punknet.com.br /davi/gta33.jpg My config: AMD64 3000 1.8GHz ASUS A8V-X 1GB ram LG 17" Flatron WinXP Pro directx 9.0c I've tried almost all nvidia drivers, monitor frequency, omega and ng drivers, bios setup... I'm giving up almost :) Thanks in advance! :)
Dunno if anyone ever gonna read this, but much ppl arent aware about a severe bug that gets most of A8V-X motherboads of ASUS when handling high-performance last model agps.
Also, the via socket is very sensitive to old/low-quality memory modules running at 400mhz.
If ur system crashes a lot, specially when changing resolution, loading games or heavy stuff, try doing this both things:
Set te curret graphics apperture size according to your Graphic card (same or double, 128, 256mb etc) and disable the "fast writing suport of agp". If the system crashes a lot, try running the memory at 333mhz. Ive seen 3 ppl with similar problems solved by doing those two things
Dude iam also having the same problem with my xfx 6200 with windows xp but when i switch to vista the game runs without any texture missing or scattered texture. i think that it need DX 10 but thats not the solution i have also trie all the things u have done but they r useless. ihave also replaced my graphic card once still the same problem. tell me if u find a solution my email is addicted.jst4u@gmail.com
The fact that you are getting a 'black screen' may indicate your power supply wattage is too low. With the spec you have I would say you need a 300 watt or more power supply for you to run your spec with the XFX 6200 installed, so check your power supply. A 350watt power supply can be bought for around 25 - 30 quid; 350 watt should be sufficient. Also check your Bios to see if AGP or PCI is selected as the primary driver under the 'Integrated Peripherals' tab; if AGP is selected change it back to PCI. I recently tried AGP but found that the PC was getting hot rather quick and my flight sim produced a black screen after 30 mins. or so, with the sound still present.
Try uninstalling the driver and all nvidia products, download the latest driver from nvidia's website. If that doesnt work, then your motherboard is the problem. Older AGP motherboards tend to have problems witht eh geforce 6200/6600 series cards, I recommend updating those drivers and seeing what the deal is.
