you have the c installation cd with you then ok
you go to device manager and uninstall the device
from there
and then reinstall it using the hardware cd given to you if
even then the problem persists reinstall windows this will do the trick
before that please verify whether u have any hardware issues

This should be just plug and play, the cd usually just has a copy of burning software (nero). Is it not working properly??
