This was a common problem with these finishers. It has to do with the stapler unit rotation binding up as it moves into the stapler compiler. Even if you don't use the stapler, it still does a diagnostic test at power on. Here is a cheap easy fix that usually works. First you need to open the finisher front door where the staple unit is located. Remove the white inner cover of the finisher that you gain access to the stapler through-about 5 screws. You will see a blue solonoid in the upper right hand corner. There are tick marks etched into the metal frame, take note of the position of the solonoid to these marks. To adjust the solonoid, open the door on the right side the paper exits and look at the back of the frame where the solonoid sits. You should see two small phillips screws about 2 to 3 inches apart. Loosen them and change the position of the solonoid referencing the tick marks. This will change the angle the guide hits the stapler compiler, which is usually the cause of these error codes. I would not recommend spending 700 dollars to try and have this problem fixed, because after some time it will come back. You can also try opening the right finisher door and look down into the finisher. You will see two belts and two plastic fingers about 4 inches long with a point on the end. Take some fine sand paper or a small file and file down the back bottom side of those fingers. It is a tight fit to get back behind them. You want to remove any small nicks in the plastic that have formed by the stapler guide hitting them. Good Luck
