Raid Failure Raid failed and we lost all data on the Raid 5 drives. We have had HP/Compaq servers for years and not one issue with RAID - hard drive failures yes but no RAID failures. Just started using IBM servers 6 months or so and we've already had a RAID failure that we are still trying to recover from. Do you know if the IBM server RAID failure is a problem with IBM servers or just our bad luck?

I had a Netfinity 5100 with Server Raid 3L controlller - 1 array Raid 5 was working fine for several years but yesterday after Installed some Windows updates its says Controller Shutdown Not complete. so the computer can't see any hard driver. At the mini configuration manager array look fine, raid 5 ok status online.

Hi, There is no chance of raid failure unless more that 1 HDD (2 or more) on Raid 5 member fail . You can replace Raid Controller if the part is faulty . Yet there is no chance of loosing data . So check if it is a Hdd fault or Raid Controller fault .
