The remote or the Tvs IR sensor are the two most likliest causes of that issue.

If the TV is basically behaving like the channel back button is always being pressed then that may indeed be the problem. Manipulating the button on the TV itself (you have correctly eliminated the remote as the possible problem) by repeated pressing of that button and making sure that it not hung up on the chassis does not resolve the issue then I am afraid that a trip to the repair store is in order.
