Disk read errors

Hi, I turned my xbox360 on last night to continue where I left off with Tiger Woods 07, the game started alright but as soon as I pressed start the entire screen went black and in white writing "the disk is damaged or dirty" message appeared. On inspection the disc was neither damaged or dirty. I decided to try another game , long story short my 360 gives the same message for every one of my games , I have had my 360 since launch day and have not had any problems so far. I tried to remedy this by cleaning with one of those laser cleaner disk things only to read this morning NOT to do this (doh) Being a brit shipping my 360 stateside for repair is not really an option due to my impatience I can't be without one so was gonna buy another on the way home from work, but whilst browsing for help stumbled across this site and thought I'd see what you peeps think. Any ideas?

disk read errors on non-scratched disks

Don't use that guide - it has you putting erasers into your xbox -ruining it for good!

I've fixed hundreds of xbox 360s with the 3 red light error. I did it with a real xbox 360 repair guide.

Don't use a repair guide that uses erasers or towels - that will ruin your xbox 360 for good. If you get one of these guides, don't use it, or ask for your money back - you'll need it once your xbox is ruined.

Only use a real repair guide with real repairs from 3RedLightFix.com

If your Xbox 360 will not play your games this is because of the sensors on the back of the drive overheating it is not normally the laser.

Luckily you can fix this yourself and get back to your games and to do this you need the proven Xbox 360 Repair guide.

Or you can send it in and they will fix it for you the repair will take about 4 weeks.

You can use the recommended guide to fix this and get back to gaming.

Once you stop the heat it will work for you.

Try to use cd rom lens head cleaner, the one with the small brush at the middle of the disk, never use cleaner using liquid solution. the best cleaning method is to open the cd and clean manually the laser lens using a cotton buds, the lens are so delicate so don't apply too much force. you can easily locate the lens in the cd case, it is a round bluish lens. cd rom cleaner works best when your unit is clean!! Huhh? Run it once a day, regularly, its like sweeping the floor of your house before you work for that day. Cd rom cleaning depends on playing back the No 1 and jumps to no 3 tracks, cleaning takes place on track 2 of the disc, you cannot clean if you cannot play the unit.. get that?

If your xbox says (unplayable disc) and no disc plays including dvd, mp3, etc. then you do have a fatal hardware flaw in the disc drive. This should be covered under the new 3 year extended warranty. This problem is rumored to be caused by two things,1 cheap disc drives, 2 live update which was trying to ban modded 360s for xbox live friendly fired on alot of innocent disc drives with bad firmware.....but this should be covered, give em a call

Disk read errors on the XBox 360 are usually related to the overheating issues. I had disk read errors on my Xbox360 until I bought a 3rd party cooler. The fact that you get read errors non-stop may mean your system has suffered heat damage and needs to be sent into Microsoft for repairs/replacement.
