Toshiba top load washers have standard error codes. Depending on the display (2 or 3 digits depending on the model) it will either show E21 (or E23) or alternate E2 and -1 (or E2 and -3). Here's a list of most Toshiba washers error codes;
E1: Water doesn't drain in time or not at all
E21: Lid open
E23: Lid not locking
E31: Load imbalance
E32: Check E1 and/or E31
E5: No water coming in
You can try resetting to factory default by following the procedure: Power OFF, then pressing and holding the Super Spin Dry button, press power ON and it should beep 3 times.
Hello debbiecantu1 - Typically error code E21 indicates an issue with the water not pumping out fast enough. Does the unit make a humming noise? If so, either the drainage hose/pump is clogged and needs to be cleaned. Try setting the cycle to spin only and verify if water pumps out. If it does not, then the unit could possibly be experiencing an issue with a faulty pump, timer, door lock assembly or control board. Contact a professional to move forward accurately.
its probberly your filter blocked or you have a obstuction in your pump check your filter first as if it is blocked your machine will only part empty thus making your washing not spinning out properly
check drain pump for obstruction, (access from rear panel) pull hose boot from tub and ck basket in hose. read tech sheet for code definition while your there. have plenty of towels and wet vac ready
There is a E21. Water not draining fast enough. Try holding the
start/pause and cancel key together for 3 seconds. The door lock, wash,
rinse and final spin leds should light. Any error codes
should be displayed when holding those keys. PLEASE RATE THIS !
