according to the manual that i have, the model if the router that you have, DX-E401, is just a broadband router and doesn't have wireless capability. if that would be the correct model of your device, there's no way that you can enable the wireless encryption since it doesn't have wireless capability. but if you are really using a wireless dynex router, follow the steps below on how to access the router's page and enable the security.
access the router's setup page by typing http://192.168.0.1 on the address bar of your web browser (i.e. internet explorer, firefox etc). by default the username is admin, then leave the password blank.
you will be prompted with the router's page, now go to the wireless settings and look for the encryption field and enbale wpa from there.
if you are not sure whether your router has wireless capability or if you are using another wireless router just give me the exact model and brand then ask me
ciao!

You can always press the reset button and wipe all settings out. You will have to re-enter passwords and encryption to protect your network.

I don't have a solution -- I'm having the exact same problem and I'm looking for a solution. Called Kindle tech support, and all they could recommend was to go to McDonald's to see if I can connect using their wireless. They DID say this Linksys WRT54G router is a compatible router with the 3rd Gen Kindle.
