My TC5000 stops intermittently as well. I start my workout, then for no apparent reason, the unit stops. I start it up again and it runs and then randomly stops for no reason. You must be steping on the machine for the generator to allow you to set its functions , keep steping until you have entered in your requirements and weight and workout that you would like to have ,this will allow your programming also to be saved ,also see if you have battery backups on this model ,they can be dead ! , hope this helps thanks glenn
