MD Decks are now orphans, Sony just dropped the last of them stopping making of Hi-MD (1GB Discs) last fall.
Those rare 1GB discs are for the 45 hour recording portables were going for up $50 each on eBay like hotcakes as a result. I use an old program Sonic Stage in this old Vista Machine, but unless your system has some sort of pathway to handle older software programs I think you have gone beyond anything written for a modern interface.
I'd suggest you record and edit what you have the old way on the deck and then save or record the output into your microphone jack to get it on your system, then edit it further. I'm old school and better at editing it with a remote on the deck than with the computer. In the end it sounds the same if I rip it later or make a CD or whatever.
I personally use my MD deck to record whatever I like and edit it the old way since the MD allows me to edit it as I please.
