Multimedia system error

Clie th-55 camera function comes up with this error..the rest reads
'unknown error occured in multimedia system. clie camera will abort" i've called sony they want me to send it to them for repair $125.00 plus shipping.. The camera function is a convience and comes in handy on occasion. I've ,also , have been bad in charging this unit and lost all info except the standard software..my memory stick also wiped-out which i thought was weird.. by the way, i have tried to reinstall software and update software to regain camera function but wasn't lucky i can realy use your help thanks , jack

You can perform full reset after backup your data. Full reset or Hard reset can be done by holding reset and power button together and releasing it after 10 seconds. It will come up with confirmation to erase all data to set it to factory default. Once you choose "Yes" it will be out of box state. It might fix the issue. For Memory card data loss you can use your PC to retrieve back by using application such as Active Undelete which can be found at www.active-undelete.com

Tried hotsyncing my PEG TH-55 with the hotsync set-up for the life drive (uses a higher OS sytem desktop version), when the PEG th-55 restarts i get " Data Mgr.c, LIne:3718, Null dbH passed" You may need to restart he handheld by performing a soft reset. Please press the RESET button. I did same message... Then i tried a hard reset and when i picked the yes (far left button to erase all data, the same message appeared.... any thoughts! - Fred fred.bonebrake@gmail.com or 813-299-7041 thanks!
