Cannot dial out

3COM phone system. I bought a used phone to replace a broken phone. I did a factory reset and my NBX picked up the phone on auto detect. I assigned the phone through the user interface so the phone settings would be pulled from those settings which should have all been the same as the old settings. Now only the internal extensions work and anything external says number not recognized.

There are two parts to an extension. The user profile and the physical phone. In order to use the new phone you need to just plug it in and discover it on to the system (like you did). It will create a new extension (user profile and phone) and then go to the users tab and select the user (profile), that you want to move to the new replacement phone, and then scroll down in the "telephone list" and find the new one and highlight it. Click ok and it will move the old profile to the new telephone. it will orphan the old telephone and the new user profile. These can both be deleted.

The website you are referring to is your phone systems Web-based management interface.
You need to talk to whoever is managing your phone system and ask them what the new IP address of the system is.

SOURCE: phone stuck in wlan and cant dial out

Unfortunately most of these phones are not manufactured by a foolproof tested software and hence many of them work well till the phone hung or got a malware inside. In the first place these phones do not have backing of a service network and those who got them at such low prices did take the risk of a loss.If the phone cannot be reset to factory setting then if is obvious that the software is hung and needs a reinstallation. Try to find if there is any source/ local service centre who has the software for the model to be downloaded but most of the time these phones are though to be good as long as they last. Wish you luck. Good day
