My hp laserjet 2300 keeps printing an error message. It began after I installed another all in one printer. the message is pcl xl error subsystem: kernael error: illegal operator...

Try updating the printers firmware.
You can download firmware here http://bit.ly/13kZ7i
If the problem remains, try replacing the driver with a PostScript-driver. That should help you out.

Win 16 subsystem error. have to close applications and reboot.

Okay. The normal causes of insufficient resources in a Win16 app are the limitations on USER and GDI resources. This applies all the way from Windows 3.0 through WinME and the Win16 subsystem running under WinNT4.0 through Vista still are affected by these design constraints regardless of the actual amount of RAM installed in the computer.

But you can try this: Right-click on the executable for the application and select Properties. Click on the Compatibility tab. Check the boxes for 'Run in 256 colors' and 'Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution.' Try running the application again. If you still get the error, go back to the Compatibility tab and check the box 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:' and select the Windows 98/Windows ME in the drop-down list. Try the program again. If that doesn't work, go back to the Compatibility tab again and select 'Windows 95' in the drop-down list and try running the application again. Hopefully, it will run without errors in one of these configurations.

I have an HP Color LaserJet 3800 printer. I am trying to print a document and it keeps printing: PCL XL error Subsystem: GEDI Error: MemA L LocError Operator: ReadImage Position: 743

That means that the printer does not have sufficient memory tp [rint the document, if it is a text document (eg word) try to print pages in groups, if it is a different document try the following:
" I receive a 'PCL XL error' on my HP 4100mfp when making a 2 page copy as one page in duplex? Why?
The problem is related to a printer memory problem.

If following parameters are set in the HP 4100mfp you will receive and 'Insufficient Memory" error.
1) In 'COPYING' the 'IMAGE QUALITY' is set to 'BEST'
2) In 'ORIGINALS' the 'CONTENT' is set to 'PHOTO'

Following error message is printed:

PCL XL error

Subsystem: GEDI
Error: InsufficientMemory
Operator: EndSession
Position: 32

The solution is to set 'CONTENT' to 'MIXED' or 'TEXT' or set 'IMAGE QUALITY' to 'NORMAL' or you can add additional memory to the HP 4100mfp. "

PCL XL error

It is a driver error, try another printer driver version or use PCL 5 rather then PCL 6 driver,

Check your USB cable it must be HighSpeed or USB 2 cable.
