I don't know how this question got classified under Windows Desktop PCs, but it sounds to me like it's about a home burglar alarm system.

The feature you're looking for is typically referred to as "stay" or "bypass." "Stay" is used to automatically disable detection on preconfigured interior zones, such as motion detectors or photobeams so you can walk around inside your home without setting off the alarm. "Bypass" is used to disable detection on any individual zones you desire (except fire detection devices such as smoke detectors, heat detectors, and pull stations).

Every alarm systems works a little differently, but if you could get back to us with make and model, we could provide specific directions.

Also see our Website at MaverickSolutions.biz/solutions_sec.htm if you'd like more information about professional upgrades, changes, or reconfiguration of your alarm system.
