Dear Sir, I have a DLink DI-514. I have tried to use SSH protocol to have access to a remote computer from the University, but I have got a timeout message. The SSH server address is replying the PING requests. Is it a configuration in DI-514 router, in order to forwarding this kind of requests?
It is possible to limit outgoing connections, but generally a firewall is used to limit connections being initiated from the outside (incoming connection attempts). Check the settings in your router to ensure that it isn't limiting outgoing connection attempts, but it sounds more like a permissions issue on the server your are trying to connect to.
