E4 message. Phone dead. Have had more than one year. Uniden's phone number says, "due to circumstances beyond our control, we cannot answer your call at this time".
I've held down several of the buttons, hoping for some sort of reboot, have unplugged the power overnight, unplugged the phone connection. Same E4 display.E4 message. Phone dead. I called Uniden about the same problem. They say it is a code that means it is defective base unit. I had purchased it within one year and they will gladly send me a new one. I don't know if they will offer anything beyond the one year mark.
They say it was a spike in the power lines that causes this error.
