Hi i have just bought a Benq vad6038 drive for my xbox 360 and i want to swap it with my original samsung. I also want it flashed with latest iextreme firmware. I ahve found related tutorials that i could peice together and do it but i'd prefere an exact tutorial and the names of any programs i need to download. I have also had trouble downloading the latest firmware via xbins. Thanks in advance for any help
The benq is a far superior drive over the samsung. Spoofing the drive is also time consuming and there's a big chance on bricking the drive. If you want a excellent tutorial on how to load the latest ixtreme firmware (ixtreme 1.6) download FrostytheSnowmans mod disc utility. I personally prefe rthe usb modification tool. Both are available on xbins.

Frosty's mod tool includes complete detailed instructions on how to do the mod. It's as easy as typing what is already in brackets on the screen. You load the usb drive, coonnect the xbox when it says to, it will them automatically read, mod, erase, and load the new created firmware on the system for you. It's also error proof using a benq drive. One last awesome feature of the program is that you do not need to have the previous firmware backed up to update the firmware, it does it all for you.
