Without naming what the error could be, the manual only says switch the camera off and on again. If the error reoccurs contact the canon service centre and name the error number.
If that won't work, you also could try to remove the battery, after you switched off the camera. Because there is virtually nothing outside the camera, you could obstruct (like holding a lens) this could be a serious problem. Make sure you move the lens cover so it makes a click. And when having the battery out, please check all contacts in the camera, on the battery and on the memory card. Al contacts should be clean and shiny. Only to be cleaned with a dry cloth. Never use any sharp tool in or close to a camera or to its accessories.
