My 60" is similar. On power up, green flashes for a minute or so, and changes to red. Blinks 5 times and waits, 5 times and waits...

Someone in another post said the svc manual states this infers a bad lamp driver... Can anyone confirm? If so, is that something anyone can fix or is this definitely a service call?

I think this sounds like my problem (need to replace the projector lamp). However, when I hit the "on" button, my SXRD 50" blinks green for about a minute then starts blinking red. Can you confirm the bulb solution? I was very pleased with this sight when my fan malfunctioned. I got the fan in a matter of day's from Sony and it fixed that problem.

Stadby Red Light flashing for 3 times every 2 seconds.
Solution: Unplugged the tv from powerstrip and placed it into wall by itself. Removed the lamp part 5100 as mc32vol (thanks for the tip), checked and made sure that the lamp wasn't broken and replaced it. TV turned on no red light blinking. Kids are Happy Bryan from Bakersfield Ca

Have to replace the lamp... part 5100... it's on the left side of the TV (if you are working from the back of the TV). there is one small screw that secures the door to the television. once you remove that door, the lamp is righ there with the labels that say pull... rempove this part. you'll likely see the shattered bulb on the inside. replace this part and the TV should be as good as new. you will have to call around to find one in stock though. the cost of the lamp is right around $250.00

this works for 50 in as well
