Solution:
CAUSE: Complete fax kit was not installed.
SOLUTION: These three items make up the complete fax kit, FK502, MK706 and MK704. If not installed together, the C250/C252 will display code CD231.

Go to the Dewalt service website, http://servicenet.dewalt.com/, enter your model number in the Find Parts search box you'll be presented with two versions of the CD231. Select one then it will ask you what type it is. From there you'll be able to read or download the parts list and manual.
