Steam iron not steaming was working ok one min then no steam

If the temperature dial is not set high enough, or the thermostat is faulty and setting the cut-off temperature too low, some steam irons will fill up their steam chamber in their soleplates completely with water and stop steaming, until the temperature returns above what's needed to continously generate steam.

Home Touch clothes Steamer! Won't turn on..

Steam is a tried and true sanitize. And unlike some abrasive cleaners, steam is both penetrating and gentle at the same time. It effectively sanitizes because it can reach high temperatures (above the boiling point of water) in pressurized atmospheres. And, by effectively re hydrating and breaking the bonds of muck and dirt, it's highly effective at spot-cleaning and deodorizing without all that rough treatment. And irons, of course, use steam to work the wrinkles out of fabrics when dryers don't cut it.

My panasonic NI22AWTXJ iron is not powering

Get a multimeter. Check that the fuse is OK. If it is ok, open the cover at the back of the iron. Plug in the iron. Be careful not to get electrocuted. Check that the cables from the socket on the wall have power. place the leads of the multimeter on the live and neutral and check for 240V or 110v depending on your country. If no power here cable could have a problem.
If there is power here, turn of power and unplug socket. open top cover, you will see the heating element. Check for continuity between the ends of the element, If no continuity the element is dead and you need to buy a new iron. If it has continuity then check continuity of other components connected in series with the element. Some models a limit thermostat to prevent the iron from over heating. This looks like a small resistor about one centimeter long, if it has no continuity, cut it off and bypass it. It is a safety device that fails when it senses high temperatures in case the main control thermostat fails. If you can find a replacement replace it, if you cant find a replacement, you can use it and hope the main thermostat does not fail.

I have a Tefal Protect GV9110 iron. Please please help me. It is not generating any steam. when press the steam button on the iron, it cuts off. if i leave it for a while, sometimes it generates steam

You probably have a mineral buildup in the iron which is blocking the water flow. Try putting a cup of white vinegar in it and run it through over the sink on the high steam setting and then the self clean setting. After you run the vinegar through, run two cups of plain water through to get the remnants of the vinegar out.

Why steam iron won't heat up

if there is no light or heat even when the thermostat is switched to the hottest setting then assumption is that the iron is defective.

with the iron not plugged in check the cable and see if it is worn or kinked or cut. look for any burn markings on the plug. if the iron is some years old it may also be that the element has burnt out. this happens more often in areas where water scale is high.

I hope this was useful.

Shark euro pro x

We fixed ours today. Take the iron plate off (bottom of the iron shaped like a triangle). You are looking for a thermal fuse (or thermal-protector fuse) pictured here for less than $2 at Radio Shack(http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102788&CAWELAID=107599331). You will need needlenose pliers to gently remove the old fuse and the wire cutters to trim the long wires to the same length as the old fuse (less than 1/2"). Also, since the old fuse was 240 C and we only could find a 228 C replacement - we cannot use the iron at the same high temp. So we limited the dial by marking out a portion of the dial. The iron stopped working after I kept the iron on high for an extended period of time. My electrician husband explained that I over heated the iron - breaking the fuse. Not time I'll turn the iron off or down when I'm not using it. This was so easy, I'm going to check out our other broken irons.
