This is an added extra and basically a new problem. Mine is brand new. I hold the left button down, and get the first beep, then hold the right button down, and it beeps multiple times, and stayes at 88. It took about 15-20 minutes of trying this before we got the 00. I think the lock mechanism is broken, as I can't get it locked either at the end, so I just let the system lock itself after 1 minute. We unplugged it and tried again, and still after multple time eventually got it to go to 00. I take it that this isn't normal.
A Code 88 flashes everytime you turn the pump on, this is the Code to let you know that the system is ready to be programmed. So, when you first turn it on, you will see the 88 flashing, you then hit the left up arrow button, will hear a small beep, hit the right arrow button, again hear a small beep, and then you should see 00 flashing, then you use the up/down arrows to program the time you want your system to run for, ie: 4 hours. After you have the time entered, hit the left arrow, again you'll hear a beep, hit the right arrow, will hear a beep and the numbers will stop flashing and you should see 04 (or 0 with whatever # of hours you have it programed to run for). Within a few minutes the green light will come on to let you know that the system is starting, if there is a problem, a new code will be displayed and you'll hear some loud beeping.
Hope this helps, good luck!
