But first turns mains power off and back on after a little delay and check if fault is still there.

The fault code 12 means the flood protection error. It is likely the inlet water is coming at a faster rate then the controller of the machine expects. Try and turn down the inlet water tap to see if it makes a difference. However if the fault occurs within 15 secs of starting the wash cycle then I am suspecting some sensor failure, ie, the flood level sensor switch may be faulty. I am not sure what your exact model is so hard to recommend which part. But you should be able to work this out from the attached site for service manuals based on your model.

If you are getting error 64 now that means something is wrong with the control module and it is causing these erratic errors. The full service manual can be downloaded from this site - IW509 is a phase 5 model.http://www.manualslib.com/download/55608...

Hi Sam. It is the Intuitive model about 12 years old. The error code comes up (with beeps) after about 15 seconds from pushing Start. Just time enough to push advance, and for the selected option to make a very brief start.
Model in IW509. Tried yesterday to get it going. All cycles (If advance) 10 seconds then starts. Makes noises for (say) 10 more seconds the error code 64.
Tried last night and it went, so did all the washing. Tried today mid morning, error code 64. Maybe watter preasure, but lower in day than at night. Also starting on spin cycle (No water), still error 64. I bet it will go again tonight??
