With a bow it is unstrung when the shooting sting is lose to string a bow means to attach the bow string which is 4 inches shorter then the bow in to the two notches on the bow to make the bow have its shooting power, this means somehow you have to string it by bending the bow so both the top and bottom loops in the string fit in the bows two notches this is called stringing a bow so it is bent like a bow and has the power to shoot arrows. My bow is like a lazy s shape, does anyone know how to do this with out breaking the bow. Thank you.

In archery, the bow string was originally made with
linen or flax fibres, which are individual stings woven onto one. It would be
better to take your bow in to have it repaid by a professional as you will need
the right tension for the bow to shoot arrows at the correct speed ect.
SOURCE: How often should I replace my bow's string?
If you're taking good care of your bow's string you can replace it every2 to 3 years. Taking care of your string means you should wax the string everycouple of weeks, and thoroughly clean your bow after an intense use or at leastevery weekend. When you'll notice thatthe string is getting dry that's a sign to get a new one.
