Very carefully as if you get it wrong
Most rifles come with limited adjustment to the trigger pull down to 5lbs if you are lucky so to get them lighter say to 2.5lbs final stage you either have to get a after market trigger or
Stone the surfaces of the trigger but doing this is very very dangerous if you make a mistake
Take the weapon out of the action and look at the trigger for small screws or Allen bolts that adjust the sear engagement and if the trigger has them adjust them a little bit and test trigger pull and safety catch to see if it dry fires when you operate the safety if every thing goes OK repeat until you get desired pull weight or run out of adjustment then think about a professional trigger job as if you get it wrong you will start putting rounds in unexpected places
I have gone on about getting it wrong a lot as I have seen weapons with truly hidious trigger jobs that have fired by closing the bolt or setting the safety to safe which has given the other shooters a nasty surprise and the poor nut on the gun a shock
