Sony Network Walkman NW-E005 MP3 Player Logo
Posted on Nov 15, 2007

Formatting problem i have had the mp3 player for a while and it has been fine, but the other day it froze up. so i pressed the reset button and when it started. it said no media libary found etc, wasnt a too bothered by this since i thought i could put the tracks back on it. but when i tried to do this it said that i had to delete all the tracks when i try to do this it comes up with a message could not delete all tracks error code 000066d7 and i even tried to format it from my computer but that doesnt even work.what can i do? or is it just broke? My computer works with SonicStage fine enough compared to other peoples description but I cannot load songs to my MP3 player, I own a NW-E005. It says I have an unstable connection but when I move it to a diff. USB port it says the same. Try to delete the songs and it gives me the error no matter how many times I try it.

I have a Sony walkman mp3. After formatting my player, when i trasfer songs from library pane to the walkman using SonicStage which i got with the player the songs are easily transfered to the player pane but when i eject the player and try to see the contents in it the message "Error Format" displays. I'm tried of formatting it many times. What might be the problem? I'm seeking for some kind of solution for the above mentioned problem. I humbly request to find out the solution.

I don't know why but,I have this problem on my Vista laptop but everything works just fine on my XP PC. I think Sonic stage may have been affected by a Vista update as this only started not to work a week or two ago.

SOURCE: formatting problem

This one is not compatible with Vista - it might work sometimes, but not others - if Sony's website doesn't have an upgrade to make it Vista compatible (I don't believe they do, but you should check), I'm afraid this player has seen the end of it's days - because it sounds like you tried everything else that I would have suggested.
