Is the signal going to the Scosche from the factory HU or a factory amplifier. If from amplifier you will need something like the Audio Control LC-2i that can handle amplified inputs. You may have done damage to the input side of the amp or the LED circuits.

I assume you want to retain the factory stereo and add some subs to it. The answer is yes you can. Simply tie the loc into the speaker leads.
