My toilet is only 2 years old but there are dark stains on the inside bottom that look terrible. How do I remove them and keep them from reaccuring?
SOURCE: have to flush 2 or 3 times to empty toilet bowl
hello, this is a standard toilet you will need to inspect the flapper that is the rubber flap that holds the water up in the tank it works when you pull the lever it pulls the chain upward and lets the water flow if this flapper is old it may not stay up long enough for the water to flow. open the tank top and flush the toilet see if this flapper is staying up long enough and giving the tank enough time to empty if not change this rubber flapper its inexpensive part.
if this is not the reason then you need to adjust your water filler valve there should be a small screw on top of the pivoting float arm
if you have to adjust it for the water limit line inside the tank this will be the proper amount of water needed to flush once completely
also check that the chain lenth on the pull lever is not pulling the flapper down quicker than its supposed to,
try this let me know your results
hope it helps
SOURCE: "Can you replace only the toilet bowl and use the existing tank"
Its usually better to buy the set, but if you don't want too that's fine. As long as the water capacity of your old tank is what the new bowl requires. If you look at the set at the store, it will usually tell you the water capacity and specs of the new bowl. Although most bowls use the same holes and bolts to combine the tank and bowl, make sure the old tank will fit on the new bowl you selected.
SOURCE: correct tank to bowl gasket for Orion toilet
I would change out the flush valve itself...it will come with the right gasket....it won't cost anywhere near the price of a new toilet...and it will save you time in the long run..good luck and.thanks for rating my effort....the fang.

The water inlet valve should close completely and stop water from coming into the tank before the water level reaches the "small tube." (This is the overflow tube.)
There may be an o-ring or rubber gasket inside the valve that can be replaced. If not, you would have to replace the water inlet valve.

hardware store, or walmart
buy sink and toilet stain remover, it does work
no city told but some have hard water and that is mineral build up stains.
so the cure is a water softener added to the homes cold water supply or ask your plumber.
