When I connect the (some sort of box connection) the lights work but I cant get the ceiling fan switch to work. I have black orange purple and yellow wires. Been trying different combinations for a week now. Any suggestions would be very helpful...
The fans have a switch on the motor that controls fan direction that sometimes is not clearly off or on when shipped new. Wobble this switch back and forth to a positive position. This task can be especially difficult if the fan is an outdoor model with the switch protected by a rubber boot.
