Cox.net Techs tell me my cable modem is installed properly, and can't tell me how to get rid of a window dropping down telling me to install software (for cable modem) The window tells me Wizard cannot install, asks for disks...I have two...one a high speed internet installation disk from Cox.net, the other a Cox cable modem usb driver. Neither is accepted I can't get rid of the drop down window. It keeps coming back. I am actually not having amy other problem...e-mail working fine, connection to internet is prompt, etc. Just concerned about the Wizard window.
One reason it could be occuring is the fact that I recently downloaded My Start (Incredible Mail) then discovered it would change my home page , so I un-installed it, but MyStart overrode and kept opening itself as my home page. Tech support from Cox helped me change my home page choice and I thought the problem was solved. Should I just ignore the Wizard installer ? Thanks, Judy boucke
You can disable this piece of software within the windows registry or from the "Start", "All Programs", "Start Up" folder.
At least you can turn it off until you find the correct disk to un-install it.
In some cases, if you have the correct disk, reinstalling the software is necessary prior to un-installing.

Your sign-up would NOT let me enter the correct info for my Sony Vaio Laptop Notebook PC6FRV31, so I clicked 28 instead of 31. ...in case that makes a big difference. Wow, it sure is difficult to submit one's problem Judy!
