Try to reinstall the driver software and do a system restart as well which makes sure that the OS recognizes the LAN. If this does not work then try downloading the latest realtek LAN software for Win 7 from the below link:

Yep - I tried installing the drivers on the disk that came with the board, after that didn't work I tried downloading ones for Windows 7 from the ASUS website.

Have you check if the driver is for Windows 7?
