It depend on the flash drive.
First, the easier, check if there is a tiny switch in your flash drive. You can easily change the switch position.
Second, if no switch, it means you have "error" problem with the drive. You can download the software in the producer's website, or you can contact the producer and they might give you the link to download it.
Third, if no software offered by the producer, then you have quite big problem. Many have this problem if they unplug the driver unsafely. One possibility to remove the write protection is going to the "Regedit" and change the value of :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies

go to ‘WriteProtect’ and change the ‘Value Data’ to ‘0’

First try to see is there is any lock in your media device or adapter and see if its not locking the media..it looks like slide switch .for one end it will lock the media and when you switch to other side you have the full access
but if that's not the reason it might be the problem with registry
Use the Registry Hack to Disable Writing to USB Drives
Here is the link .just download the zip folder and after opening the folder you will find a file just double click on it..

SOURCE: how to remove write protect on my usb flash drive

Maybe you are infected with a virus. Run CMD on rrun command or get to run the Windows Dos Prompt. Goto flash drive drive letter. Then type DIR/AH, this will show you list of hidden files in your flash drive usually if you get an autorun.inf you are infected with a virus. Type TYPE AUTORUN.INF with the space in between. This will show you the script if it will run an exe command usually untrusted one. Usually the autorun.inf and the linked exe is attributed to be hidden, system, and read only.

If the files in your flash drive is not so important you can try to delete the autorun.inf only. But you will gonna do this first. In its drive letter type ATTRIB -H -R -S AUTORUN.INF hit enter. Then type DEL AUTORUN.INF. trying to access the flash drive in windows screen you can get that something is cannot be found. But you could actually delete and load files into it. Or try to access the drive rightclicking it then select EXPLORE.

Hope this help. Post comments if this does not help.
