A bootable cd means that you can stick it in your cd drive, and start your computer up from it. Like the "Apple Hardware Test" cd that came with your ibook.
You can stick it in, start your comp, hold down "c" key, and it will load up the cd so you can troubleshoot your computer.
you can use this if your computer is ever broken and won't start up..
