Hello,i recently purchased a graphic equalizer on ebay to work in conjuction with a tape deck, two turntables, two cd players, two mics and a mixer. The model of the unit is a ADC SS-115,i got it home...

I admire your desire to make a nice piece of classic gear whole again but the cost of simply replacing it with a fully functional one is probably less.

Having owned an old Sound Shaper with mechanical sliders I can tell you that you will eventually start to encounter noisy contacts and slider that will drive you crazy. I only used mine for recording and eventually I could never trust the sliders to move without inducing noise. I eventually got an ADC SS-525X with all electronic sliders, Real Time Analyzer/EQ display, 4 curve memories, remote control and life is good.

Surf over to eBay and look around.

There's one SS-525X with no mention of the Remote or calibration mic (which I have but never used anyway). The display lights up in that bright Fluorescent Blue....

My volume has gone also cant get volume on

First check you dont have a red line through your speaker on your toolbar. If so click it and "UN-mute it.

If using external speakers then check that the speakers are plugged into the GREEN port on the laptop and that the speakers are powered up with the volume at about 1/2 way.

Open volume control.

When the box with all the sliders opens up click on OPTIONS (top left)
Click PROERTIES

Make sure that Volume controls, Wave, SW Synth, CD PLayer, Line IN, and MIC all show on there and that the volume sliders are about half way up.

Make sure noe of the sliders have ticks at the bottom, if so UNTICK them.

If any of those are missing click options then properties from the top left and put a tick besides any that were missing (nothing else unles you know you want that item)

Now close the slider box.

Put a normal music cd in your cd/dvd player on the computer and set it to play with windows media player.

You should now have sound out of the speakers.

If not double check that you have no problems with your hardware from the device manager.
