The WEP code was set either by you during the setup of the wireless modem, or by the manufacturer. If you set the code and cannot remember it, try resetting the modem back to its factory defaults, the manual for the modem will tell you how to do this. If you no longer have the manual, go to the netgear website and download a manual through the support portal.. Don't be tempted to leave wep turned off, without it, anyone can access your network and your internet connection, steal your identity, bank details etc or simply use up your download limits..
