checksum error

Question

i have got a --BIOSTAR M7NCD-ULTRA NFORCE2 SOCKET A-- using --PHOENIX BIOS -- D686 BIOS 085523965 is printed on the bios chip the error i get is AWARD BOOTLOCK BIOS V1.0 BIOS ROM CHECKSUM ERROR from what i understant i need to get a new bios & install it , i think i got the right bios downloaded from biostar but im not shure how to install it , or flash it ?? can you help ??

Hi Faster Fester. You don't need to install the new BIOS.

You get the checksum error just because you're CMOS battery have run out. Just try to replace the CMOS Battery and you're problem will be solved.
