I bought it at a thrift store. Electronics work great, it goes through all it's cycles like a champ. But it doesn't mix - that is, the little metal paddle at the very bottom of the loaf-shaped vessel does not turn. The machine itself heats up fine. This is a "double-barrelled" machine with room for two loaves, so I started with one loaf on the right side and took out the other pan (as per instructions), and it did not mix. Upon inspecting the base upon which that pan rests, the ball bearing (?) sounded loose, so I tried doing another loaf on the other side - same result, no mixing at all (tragically, I had to resort to actual physical effort by kneading my own bread).
I am convinced this is mechanical and not electronic, and therefore want to try to fix it (plus, it fits nicely on my counter and I already ordered one part and the cookbook).
Any help out there? I will send you excellent home-made bread, whoever you are, if you can help me fix this!!!

Let's try a few things. First take the bread pan out of the machine and see if you can spin the paddle freely by hand. If you can't, then the sealed bearing in the bottom of the bread pan is frozen and the paddle won't spin during the kneading cycle. Try putting hot water in the pan and let it soak. Try this a few times...If that does not work you will need a new bread pan. If everything is good with the bread pans, then take both pans out of the machine and start a kneading cycle. Look through the top window (if you have one) and see if the motor shafts are spinning. If not, then the belt fell off the pulleys, or has snapped, or the motor is broken. Good Luck..Hank
