I am getting flashing light for developer. How do I add it? It does not say in manual.
I had the same issue. The "developer" is also called a "carrier" and is also located in the developer unit along with the toner. It is easy to replace. Slide out the developer unit with the toner hopper still attached by sliding the a white spring loaded stopping mechanism so you can slide out the whole unit. I unscrewed the top plate of the developing unit which was 3-4 screws on the top of the develping unit and took off the top plate exposing resevoir where the toner and developer are mixed. I then dumped out all of the old developer and toner in that reservoir where the "screws" of the mixing unit are(they are white and are the whole length of the develper unit). I then dumped the new develper along the whole course of the developer unit and then screwed the top plate back on and then reinserted the whole unit. I did, however, take the toner hopper off of the unit but I think you really do not need to do that, maybe I am wrong on that but there are 4 screws on the top of the hopper holding it the top of the develper unit so it is quick and easy. Now use the machine. I had toner on my drum (the shiny roller next to the develper unit) so I used a soft tissue to wipe it off. After about 50-75 copies, it was clear. The copies were dirty at first but improved as more were made and I took the unit out again to wipe off the roller again and it cleared up. Done. I was ripped off by the "technician" who told me replace the drum, blade, developer unit for a cost of $600+ . Scum-bag! I paid him $125 for him to tell me that. THANKS!!!!!!! I wish I read this post before I called him but you did now so keep your money where it belongs, in your wallet. PS I still have the developer light on but it works fine.
The developer should be replaced by a tech. Therer is a simulation to run so the toner concentration is correct and stays that way. Also if I recall, the developer light comes on but should not be blinking. If it is the "serviceman" led that is blinking you need a tech. The toner waste container inside the machine is full or the toner waste pipe is backed up. Sooner or later the spiral toner recovery coil scars the inside of the plastic toner waste pipe. This can trigger a false "toner waste full condition". If so, change the $6.00 toner pipe (if still available)

The flshing light for developer signal in SF-2025 does not indicate to change the developer.
It is the signal of the drum id mark sensor or drum sesetivity sensor. try to clean them( both are on the drum unit) and adjust variable onn the drum unit (VR 1, VR 2) with sim 44-02,44-03 reading shoul be 204+/-5%

Hi, it means the developer requires changing. it has a life of 30k (i think). I would suggest that if your quality is not effected, then keep using the machine, or spend the money on an engineer to come out and replace it.

I have a new photocopier AR5316e. Pls do I need to add developer to start using it?
I have the same problem and the light is flashing, in the book it says call a service tech and when I did they said they can't get the developer and I need to buy a new copier. They said Sharp is getting away from analogue technology. I want to fix it myself, I only paid $100 for the copier last year.
