Then how can I change the path? I've been to the properties and settings of the scanner, but did not find any option for changing the automatic choice for where to save the scanned file.

I am trying to scan a document and save it on my computer. I worked only a few days ago, then the scanned document was saved automatically in a folder called Imported Pictures and Videos. Now, however, I get this error message and the file won't save.

Thanks! But I when I go into control panel and view the properties for the scanner, there is no option to identify where to save the file. And the error message pops up before I get any save as-option. Then what to do?

The directions to the place where you are getting or putting a file is wrong... The "Path" to the "Drive" "File", "File name" is not right...

when you get that message, what are you doing?

Right that's exactly what I thought, you need to save as, and put a PATH to where it will be saved.. eg: C:\My Documents\ Pictures\my-file-I-just-scanned.jpg or C:\desktop\my-file-i-just-scanned.*** You just have to tell it where save it to... OR go to setup and properties, options, and look for the "Default" place the files will be saved to. And make sure that right. in The save name box put the whole "Path" in NOT just the name you want... C:\my documents\Pictures\THENAMEOFMYFILE.*** This hopefully will reset the Path to it.

NO not there in the scanner software that you scan with, Canon software... Thats where you have to change if you can... Have you installed CanonScan Tool Box? You must install ALL software for the scanner.... AFTER you have scanned and it asks you where... type in the FULL PATH into the file box...
