I placed The sims 3 Disk in my Acer X1700 CD drive wrongly. I think it's crooked or something. Now , when i press eject, the computer tries to open itself but it can't. The disk cannot be read either.
Check to see if there is a small (tiny) hole just below the tray. Find a paperclip and straighten it. Put the paperclip wire into the hole and push to release the tray. Once it is just barely open, reach under the tray into the open area and try to wiggle the CD into the correct depressed area of the tray. If you can get to the cd this way and get it to settle into the depression, open the tray all the way.
close to the eject button you will find a small pin hole straighten out a paper clip and push it strongly into the hole and the drivr will pop open.. even if just slightly,, just pull out the draw and remove the disc.. close draw firmly and turn on pc..
