Record errors I have a magnavox vhs/dvd recorder combo that requires +r disks. I use RW disks but when I go to erase some of them I get an error message. Error # E 4 54037380. What does this mean. Also, trying to use writable disks I get an error message that it can not write to a brand new disk. Usually Fujifilm or Maxell disks. I'm not sure if it is the same error message. I can't set it up for timed-recording because I never know if it will accept the disk or not until I've missed what I want to record. Any help would be appreciated. Purplady

If your dvd player only supports dvd+r discs then that is the only way it will record. It will only record once onto the dvd-rw and, since it doesn't support the re-writables, it won't be able to use this function. This is the most likely reason for the first error. The second problem is a little confusing. Is it when you are trying to record on dvd-rs or dvd-rws that it says it can't record? I hope this post was helpful (for the first error, anyway). Good luck! I hope everything works out! Sincerely, Der Strom
