Ps3 controller please help my ps3 controller suddenly stopped working on games it works fine on everything else but wont work at all once i load a game

I bought Wall-E for my PS3. It told me I had to ugrade the software on my system so I did. My controller does not work with this game at all, however works with the system menus. I pressed the PS3 button on the controller and the light lit up, so it definately recognizes the controller. Oddly, it will work with the guitar from Guitar Hero III, but I do not want to have to use that to control the game. I have not tried it with other games recently, though it always worked in the past (being that I have only had the PS3 less than 3 months.) Can anyone help? I bought Wall-E for my PS3.
