There "may" be one possible solution, which people have had success at.
The Dell 922 printer is the same as a Lexmark X5270
Lexmark has Mac OS X drivers for their version of it.
If you have Mac OS X, the driver can be obtained here:

Download the 5200 drivers if you need to, and then install the printer manually through system preferences. the system will search for the right drive and will not find one. Then, simply browse through them manually until you come to LexMark 5200. Works like a charm.

I tried installing the lexmark driver as you supposed. But during installation, when trying to detect the printer, it doesn't find it.
It does turn up on the printer search in system prefs, but not when installing the lexmark driver....

When you download the Lexmark drivers all is tickety- boo until you get to the last stage of set up. A message appears - printer not detected - see manual which can't be found. Then you have to quit the application which warns that you will need to manually set up - the printer icon then disappears.
Thanks to Nitrotrike for the possible solution. I tryed installing the Lexmark driver for the X5270 model printer, from their website, when it comes to the selection of printers to use, it shows the Dell A10 922 printer in the listing, but will not allow it to be added. In all, I would say that this solution does not work, at least not in the manner described.
