Access MD function without remote

I have a Sony CMT-NE3 stereo and I need to access the MD input so I can plugin my computer's headphone jack (and use it for my iPod). I don't have a remote to access the MD input though, which is what is required (according to the manual) to access this function. I also tried programming a universal remote, but it didn't offer this button either. Is there a way I activate the MD input without the remote? I'm not opposed to opening it up and fiddling with the circuitry if that is the solution.

I don't think there is a solution, but I have the same problem. Trying to use my ipod through md input, but no remote. I've pretty much tried every combination of buttons, but nothing works. What a serious flaw to an otherwise good stereo. O well.

I have the same problem. I called costomer support and all they said to order a replacement remote

I've got the same system. When I noticed that the MD/aux could only be accessed via remote I SWORE to never loose it. While I've never permanently lost it I have misplaced it a few times. no - it is impossible without the remote. Really alloying - I now use it only to play Steaming internet and iTunes, and I sometimes inadvertnatly bump the wong button and then have to seak out the emote to get my music back. I agree - serously lame design flaw. How much did they save by omitting that button? Maybe you could find a replacement remote through Sony or on eBay.

Hi, just came across the same device, but remote is missing. Your solution to hack the audio is not acceptable. I continued looking. And found a way which is not mentioned on any forums.

THE SOLUTION is ANDROID APP on PLAY STORE:
1. GET THE APP "irplus".
2. OPEN APP AND "ADD NEW REMOTE"
3. SELECT BRAND "SONY(Various&Legacy)"
4. SELECT DEVICE "CMT-Series"
5. TAP the "TICK" in the upper right corner TO FINISH.
6. YOU WILL SEE REMOTE. TAP ON "INPUT+" to select "AUDIO IN"
7. ENJOY THE BEATS

BTW YOU ARE WELCOME
