I am a Linux user and just bought the Pixma MX300. Much to my disappointment, the machine doesn't work due to driver issues. I've done a search and have found solutions but these solutions are too difficult to understand. I'm a Linux user, not an Linux expert.
I've had to use guttenprint 5 to set up non-supported printers in linux, have you tried that? I found a fix, though! Simply use the already installed "Canon PIXMA
MP150 - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.0.1" driver. It seems to be printing fine.
You can copy and fax stand alone still on the unit itself. I guess that
we will have to wait for a real driver to take advantage of the onboard
scanner. Hope that this helps! how-to link
